// MISSION: BAJIKAN_
// MISSION: BAJIKAN_ ![]() ➣ General Info Starting March 1st, the fleet will enter synchronous orbit with the planet Bajikan. Bajikan is a interstellar tourist destination that's teeming with aliens of all shapes and sizes and caters to fulfilling the desires of its visitors. If you can't find what you want on Bajikan, you won't be able to find it anywhere. (Unfortunately for the characters trapped in the fleet, the one thing it doesn't have is a portal home.) The upside to getting caught in the planet's orbit is that if there's anything that can fix the fleet's malfunctions, it will be down there on the planet somewhere. The Eluvio's crew, already overworked and exhausted from trying to mitigate the disasters of the past few weeks, continue to work around the clock to jury-rig a working communications array in the hopes of contacting help. On March 2nd, the Eluvio's crew succeeds in making contact with the planet. The good news is that the materials they need to fix the fleet's systems are down there on the planet. The bad news is that they're in the hands of one individual. Terfezia is the unofficial ruler of the planet. His fingers are in every pot. His money pays for those in obvious authority to hold their positions. His "security personnel" ensure that when he gives an order, people obey. He has the materials the Eluvio's fleet needs. In response to this news, the following message goes out to the fleet's network: PASSENGERS, Characters are free to volunteer for this mission. They are not required to do so and no one will coerce them into it. ➣ Diplomacy Team For those interested parties, they will speak to Lt. James on the flight deck. He will interview them with questions pertaining to their skills in diplomacy, haggling, maintaining a "poker face," and will ask what they're willing to do to get the ship up and running properly again. When the interviews are completed, Lt. James will choose four characters for this mission. Once chosen, the team will be responsible for going to the planet, meeting with Terfezia, and acquiring the necessary materials. How this will be done: Sign ups for this event are HERE. As with all events, if more characters sign up for the mission, we will be using RNG to choose the team. You will have until 8:00PM EST on Saturday, March 4th, to sign up for this team. When sign ups close, we will reply to those who were chosen. At that time, we will be asking the chosen team members to decide amongst themselves whether they will be using FORCE or DIPLOMACY to acquire the materials. Please let us know your decision no later than 8:00PM EST on Sunday, March 5th! The answer the team provides will determine which base scenario the team will be provided with. We are aware that the timing for the sign ups precludes new players from volunteering for the mission. This is deliberate. ICly, the Eluvio crew would not trust this mission to unknown elements, as the lives of all the people in the fleet depend on the mission succeeding. If it fails, the fleet will be stuck orbiting Bajikan. The crew has surreptitiously been monitoring the current roster of passengers over the last few months and has reason to believe that they can be trusted with this. (Please note: The crew monitoring the passengers is not IC knowledge. We are simply providing this OOCly to the playerbase!) Players will have until Wednesday, March 8th, to plot with one another. On March 8th, the Eluvio crew will contact officials from Bajikan and they will transport the team, and any other characters who want to visit, down to the planet's surface. This will be done by characters going to the flight deck. A crew member will be using a makeshift communications device to contact the transporter technician on Bajikan and inform him when characters are ready to depart. Transportation is instantaneous. Characters will experience no discomfort during or after transit. Currently, there is no hard end date for this unscheduled stop! Our aim is early April so players will have roughly a month to enjoy the splendor that Bajikan has to offer. How and when the fleet will leave the planet depends on how the team chooses to act with Terfezia. ➣ What happens in Bajikan... There is a lot to see and explore once characters make landfall. Once they arrive, they will go through a simple check in process which is just getting them registered in Bajikan's database. This planet might indulge in every desire, but they do like to keep their visiting patrons safe. Or, safe enough. During this processing, most characters will receive 6-7 colored tokens. The only rule regarding tokens: CHARACTERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 WILL NOT RECEIVE RED TOKENS! These tokens are nontransferable and are keyed to each person. Each token is required to enter each of the seven districts on Bajikan. If, after visiting a district, a character decides they won't ever return, they can surrender their token to a guard at the gate or give it back to those in processing. If they surrender their token, they can't get it back! More information on the planet and the specific details of the seven districts can be found HERE! Please read over everything carefully and fully! Each district is contained and guarded by a gate that can only be accessed with a matching color token. Remaining in the districts will have an effect on all characters who enter! Breathing the air is what influences characters to act based on the aspect the district claims. If your character enters, the effects of the air will begin! However, once a character leaves, the effects of the district are instantly dropped! Entering the main heptagon, characters will feel refreshed. It will be up to the players if they feel any remorse or any other lasting effects from what may have transpired within the district itself. On the Eluviopedia page, there are plants listed per district. Characters are allowed to bring some back with them if they so choose! They can be grown on the ship either in the atrium or in a character's bunk. The only ones that will not make it back to the Eluvio are: Christelas and Noxious Twilight. Because Bajikan is an archipelago, there are dozens of islands to explore! These require no tokens but credits to hire or rent a boat to visit. We highly encourage players to create an island getaway of their own as at a later date, it will be possible to return to Bajikan (this is also not IC knowledge.) We have created a thread HERE with a form should you decide to claim an island for yourself! At any time characters are free to return to the fleet if they tire of the antics on Bajikan. They simply need to return to the transporter and they will be sent back up to Eluvio's flight deck. ➣ Miscellaneous Remember to only sign up for the team mission if you intend to participate in all OOC planning and all IC actions. If you sign up and then fail to participate either in the plotting or the playing, you will not be able to participate in the next two mod-created events. We will be making a separate post to announce the chosen team. Those chosen will then be able to use that post to plot and ask us any questions they might have. Players whose characters are not chosen for the mission are welcome to have their characters visit Bajikan. Anyone who will be having their character visit the planet and partake in what the districts have to offer can use this post to plot. We are aware that the age of consent is 16 years in many places and that alien worlds likely have different lifespans, cultures, and ages of consent. Although Eluvio is a sex-friendly game, it is not a sex game. Therefore, only characters 18 years of age and older will be permitted to partake in the lust district. |
